Your mission
The
Head of Marketing is a strategic leadership role designed to bridge the gap between LeydenJar's deep-tech R&D and its commercial scale-up. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will act as both the strategic architect and hands-on executor of our global brand. This role is built on partnership-working across the Commercial, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure our technical breakthroughs are translated into market-leading commercial results.
This role is part of LeydenJar's U.S. entity and is based in Arizona.
Your responsibilities:
Marketing Operations & Measurement
- Build and maintain a lean, scalable marketing environment, without unnecessary complexity but scalable as the organization grows and goals evolve
- Define and track the right activities for a B2B deep-tech company as it grows.
- Own the marketing budget, allocating resources strategically across different marketing channels.
- Know when and how to bring in external support to scale output without growing headcount prematurely.
- Establish the foundational infrastructure and processes for a scalable marketing function as the company grows and requirements change.
Events & Conference Presence
- Plan, manage, and execute LeydenJar's presence at key global industry events with the agility to shift to new markets as needed while coordinating logistics, all trade shows and conferences in Europe, the U.S., and Asia.
- Identify and pursue strategic speaking and sponsorship opportunities that maximize LeydenJar's visibility with target audiences at global events.
- Develop an annual events strategy with clear prioritization criteria balancing commercial impact, audience quality, and cost.
- Drive pre-show commercial activation in coordination with the BD team.
- Manage abstract submissions and speaking opportunity pipeline to build LeydenJar's presence as a thought leader within conference programming, not just on the show floor.
B2B Marketing & Strategic Partnerships
- Develop and own a B2B marketing strategy in lockstep with the commercial team, ensuring marketing directly supports active pipeline, target accounts, and partnership priorities.
- Build LeydenJar's visibility and credibility within the global battery supply chain.
- Equip the commercial team with best-in-class sales enablement materials.
- Implement a disciplined account-based marketing approach aligned with the BD team's priority target accounts.
- Develop an understanding of the customer journey as it relates to LeydenJar and ensure marketing materials and messaging support each stage appropriately.
- Establish a regular cadence with the commercial team to gather field intelligence to refine messaging.
- Build LeydenJar's market presence within the global silicon anode community through targeted visibility strategies.
Product Marketing
- Work with Product Marketing team members to further develop go-to-market strategy and customer-facing materials for LeydenJar's Silyte™ silicon anode platform.
- Work closely with R&D and Engineering to understand product developments, test data, and manufacturing capabilities.
- In conjunction with Product Marketing, support the production of and maintain competitive intelligence reports covering the silicon anode landscape.
- Support the qualification and design-win process with strategic accounts by developing the right technical marketing materials at each stage of the customer journey.
Content Creation & Thought Leadership
- Oversee all brand touchpoints including the website, presentation templates, sales collateral, trade show materials, and digital assets while managing external design agencies or freelancers as needed.
- Position LeydenJar and its founders as thought leaders in the battery technology space through media placements and editorial content.
- Manage LeydenJar's social media presence to grow the audience, drive engagement, and build industry reputation.
- Produce engaging content around key company milestones, including Plant One construction progress, technology achievements, and funding announcements.
- Define/refine and own LeydenJar's brand identity, messaging architecture, and corporate narrative ensuring a consistent, credible, and differentiated voice across all audiences.
- Lead the evolution of LeydenJar's brand as the company transitions from deep-tech R&D pioneer to commercial-scale anode roll producer with a focus on all audiences.
Investor Communications & PR
- Work in conjunction with the CGO developing LeydenJar's external narrative for investors, analysts, and financial media.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all media inquiries.
- Lead the preparation and distribution of press releases, media briefings, and earned media campaigns around major company milestones.
- Support the LeydenJar team in fundraising rounds by developing polished materials for various audiences in close collaboration with the CEO, CGO, CFO, and CCO as needed.
- Monitor and manage LeydenJar's reputation across earned, owned, and shared media.
As the single marketing lead in a high-growth technology company that operates as an AI orchestrator, utilizing a "force multiplier" model to achieve the output of an entire traditional department, is the goal. By integrating agentic AI into the core workflow, a lead manages a "Hub-and-Spoke" system where human strategic judgment directs AI agents to execute the high-volume portion of content production, technical SEO, and market intelligence synthesis. This approach allows a solo marketer to maintain high-velocity brand presence and lead generation across global deep-tech markets, focusing human expertise on technical rigor, brand soul, and high-stakes relationship management while automating the repetitive logistics of distribution and data tracking. Highly-level competencies also include:
- AI Literacy: Proficiency in prompt engineering and "Agentic" workflows to automate repetitive tasks.
- Agile Output: Ability to maintain the marketing velocity of a full agency by managing a thoughtfully curated AI tech stack.
- Data Oversight: Ensuring all AI-generated insights are grounded in first-party data and company-specific intellectual property.
About you:
- Experience: 15+ years of B2B leadership in deep-tech, battery energy storage, or advanced materials.
- Interpersonal Fluency: Proven ability to build trust with technical teams; you know how to extract the "story" from the data without disrupting the lab's work.
- Scale-Up DNA: Track record of taking companies through the "R&D-to-Commercial" transition, ideally involving successful exits or mass production milestones.
- Operational Agility: Capable of going from a "Department of One" mindset-equally comfortable presenting business strategy to the Board and personally executing digital content yet the growth potential of an enterprise marketer.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated experience spanning brand, PR/communications, product marketing, media relations, and investor relations simultaneously, ideally as a solo marketer or small team in a resource-constrained environment.
- Prior experience working with or for European deep-tech companies, or comfort operating across North American and European business cultures.
- Understanding of the battery cell manufacturing supply chain and the typical commercial process between anode material suppliers and cell makers.
- Familiarity with marketing tools for B2B with a focus in the battery industry or adjacent.
- Comfortable in a highly international working environment.
- Travel requirements up to 50%.
